Reading A Site Visit: Eleven Things Worth Checking Early
A Site Visit Is An Inspection, Not A Tour. The Show Home Is Designed To Be Persuasive; The Rest Of The Site Is Designed To Be Functional, And That Is Where The Information Is.
Walk The Unfinished Part
- External Wall Thickness And Block Quality.
- Plinth Height Against The Road Level.
- Terrace Falls And Where The Downtakes Actually Land.
- Whether Services Were Trenched Before The Road Was Laid.
- Drainage Chamber Depth And Spacing.
- Compound Wall Foundation On The Low Side Of The Site.
Ask For Paper
- Soil Investigation Report.
- Concrete Cube Test Results By Pour.
- The Approved Layout, Not A Marketing Redraw.
- The Handover Checklist From A Previous Phase.
- The Maintenance Corpus And Who Holds It.
A Developer Who Has Done The Work Will Produce These Without Hesitation. The Hesitation Is The Answer.
